2. Matters arising from minutes of last general meeting
2.4 Insurance for PYP to be brought up in next Community Council meeting
3. Finance update
KB reported that Ellis
Williams has not been in contact.
The bins decorated by children from Newborough school have been paid for by
a grant from Tidy Towns.
The accounts are complete and will be taken to Dentons’ accountants
very soon as information from the accounts will be used in a questionnaire
supplied by Morton Michel re insurance for coming year.
4. Food Co-operative
A food co-operative venture is about to be launched in Newborough using EB for the venue. This is part of WAG through Welsh Challenge Anglesey and Rural Regeneration unit. It is similar to Farmers’ market, fresh produce will be distributed to residents. The launch day is planned for 12th June with the first delivery to the village on 19th June. Volunteers from Holyhead Food Co-operative have agreed to come to the first delivery day to help out. Newborough volunteers have visited Holyhead Cybi Partnership to see how to organise the distribution etc. If CN members know of pensioners who might benefit from sharing bags of produce please let volunteers have names/addresses/contact details. LW to advertise the launch in Community News, Anglesey Mail.
5. Tidy Towns
The bins financed by Tidy Towns have been ordered and both will be on EB’s site. A day to be arranged with Mr Thomas for official “opening” with possibly the whole school visiting EB with some refreshments; Gareth Owen of TT to be contacted when bins are delivered.
6. Diary - June/July
Disco lights currently above stage to be removed for lowering of screen for WI meeting.
Dates for parties checked to ensure opening at correct times.
7. Holiday Playscheme
The holiday playscheme will run for three weeks during the summer holiday. The first week will be part of the EB reward system and young people from the village will be able to take part in activities at Conway Centre each day during the first week of the holiday (this will not involve finance from CN). The residue of Children In Need monies to be used to pay fees to holiday playworkers during the remaining two weeks of the scheme.
8. AOB
(i) RR suggested more
leaflets to be distributed around the village asking for volunteer help. Asking
people for specific help eg with posters, admin, working with children etc
(ii) County Council run Youth Club has now finished for the summer; Youth
Achievement Award sessions continue to be held at EB on Monday evenings; CJB
to check with Sharon Jones re schedule and fee for office use
(iii) Thursday evening will continue to be for Youth drop in sessions with
building sub group carrying out tasks depending on the weather
(iv) LW advised the meeting that maps relating to the forest were available
in the office for those who wished to view them or to have a copy.
