Agenda
1. Apologies:

2. Matters arising from minutes of last general meeting
4. Parc Y Plant lease
signed with PJI and CC. Problem with issues over CN’s insurance policy
covering public liability continues. Insurance for Dwyran Park paid for by
CC at cost of £500. £10 to be paid on 1st May to comply with lease.
Receipt issue to be followed up
5. All Wales Convention: £240 received to include original £15
booking fee with expenses of approx £60
6. Six young people have signed up for DofE; first session on navigation to
be held at EB on 29th April at 6.15pm
7. AOB (iii) Male Voice choir has agreed to sing at EB’s 2nd anniversary
on 17th October. CJB to write a month prior to performance with other details;
Clic Sargent designated charity for function.
3. Finance update
KGB provided information on current monies for committee to have overview. A summary to be included with these minutes. He also requested that groups show differentiation between income and expenditure; a form will be produced to simplify this. An online account for HSBC has been set up; if committee members arrive a few minutes earlier at the next meeting, a demonstration of this can be viewed on the computer. He expressed his concern that although it makes his task easier, committee members need to be assured that transactions made via computer are all above board; there was unanimous support for his efforts.
4. Parc Y Plant
This has been reported in 2. Matters arising.
5. Tidy Towns
The granting of monies for the purchase of the waste bins has been given the go ahead by Keep Wales Tidy on receipt of a letter from CNC agreeing to oversee the disposal of waste appropriately.
6. Diary - May/June
It was pointed out
that June 18th is an Information Day to be organised by Genesis with support
from other agencies.
Beaver Scouts is to start at EB to cater for boys and girls 6 – 8 years
on Thursdays 5.15 – 6.15pm
7. Room hire form
It was agreed that the room hire form needs updating to include the following:
‘No deep fat frying’ as this does not comply with our insurance regulations.
A bi-lingual sign for the kitchen door reinforcing that children are not allowed inside.
8. Police Initiative – dispersal
KGB advised that Alison Williams (Police) has approached him with a view to placing information re dispersal order on EB website. He informed her that it would be a committee issue for discussion. KGB agreed to find information for committee from internet and distribute. Enid Williams (Youth Service) contacted CJB re dispersal order as she is concerned that it might impact on other activities provided by CNC eg DofE. It was agreed that CJB to advise EW that this did not appear to be the case and that CNC was the only body within Newborough that maintained a good relationship with most of the children/young people.
10. AOB
(i) DH requested a
tool to be purchased to help with resetting the break glass
(ii) To help with recycling issues, a red and a blue bin to be placed in the
kitchen area; DH to clean; signs to be provided for the bins and their use
(iii) Forest Education Initiative Cluster group meeting held recently and
attended by LW is to hold a forest gala on 25th/26th September. There appears
to be an assumption by Simon Hunt that EB would be able to provide volunteers
to help over the weekend; this is yet to be discussed.
