3. Building Progress Update

The next site meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 20th December. As HT and KB unable to attend due to prior commitments, LW volunteered, DH to confirm his attendance.
HT reported that the contract is yet to be signed by CN. There has been no contact from RGR re amended items from the site meeting of 22nd October. With proposed amendments to the build, compensated items and adjusted figures the costings have been lowered by nearly £15,000. Copy of email from HT to RGR detailing the above to be circulated with these minutes.
HT advised LW to check on progress of build and incidents/accidents on the site when she attends the site meeting. The site will be shut down from 22nd December until 8th January 2007 for the Christmas break.

4. Finance Update

KB reported that all current bills have been paid. It was decided to continue group insurance cover with Morton Michel – similar amount paid last year is due in December. The fee for the architect re roof amendments and the electricity bill for Eglwys Bach have been paid.
The sum of £911.21 for building regs to cover all site visits. The quote for dry rot still awaited.

5. Funding Applications – completed and potential

CJB reported that two grants have been applied for by the end of November: Children in Need, request for £61,000 for salaries for 5 posts over 3 years; Medrwn Mon Key Fund £2,500 for kitchen fittings and equipment, (£2,500 is the ceiling for the Key Fund.)
It is hoped to apply for grants from Big Lottery, Tudor Trust, B&Q. The Social Risk fund would have been ideal for monies towards the hair salon but this particular fund comes to an end in December 2006; however, it is quite possible that another similar fund will be set up to replace it. If CN is successful with applying to B&Q for outdoor materials, application to be made for support from Prince’s Trust volunteers or BCT volunteers to help with landscaping grounds.

6. Activities

a. Christmas Craft Workshop – Cymorth Play grant

The Christmas craft workshop held on Saturday 9th December at the school was very enjoyable, with 13 youngsters attending. Thanks to Nia and Kerry for their guidance in leading the group and to other volunteers for their help and support. Some of the children wanted to donate some of their table decorations to “the people who have given the money for this workshop”; Medrwn Mon delighted to accept the gifts.

b. Santa

A schedule for Santa’s visit around Newborough and district has been set up. Mr Thomas to be asked for helpers from year 6 for accompanying Santa. Adult helpers: Glenys, Nia, Lorraine. LW volunteered if need be, also to take photos. A copy of the schedule to be enclosed with these minutes if they are available before visit.

c. Cymorth Play Grant

The grant application form for the above for February half term to be submitted by January 20th 2007. Children to be contacted for ideas. NH suggested a St Dwynwen activity for 25th January. This will be the last application to Medrwn Mon for this financial year, Easter activities to be financed in the next financial year.
