Dear Friend,

You will see that the refurbishment of Eglwys Bach is almost complete.  Volunteers are currently painting inside and carrying out other work. We are trying really hard to be ready for opening in September 2007. We would welcome more volunteers who can offer support at this vital stage.

Car Boot sale

Many thanks to all 'friends' who donated items for the car boot sale.  It took place on Sunday 20th May at Mona and we took nearly £300 on the day and including our ebay items, the total was £330.27 ...which we thought was brilliant. We still have left over donated items that we shall take to Mona on another Sunday...so we are still asking for items for this next event.

Piano

We are very fortunate to have been given a piano in lovely condition that will be very useful for activities and special occasions. If you, or someone you know plays the piano, please contact us if you feel you can offer your time and talent.

Choir

There is interest in the village for the formation of a choir, if you want to know more, please contact us.

Grants currently being applied for

We have applied to Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for funding to landscape the grounds.

Applications to Health Alliance and to Community Chest are about to be made.

Funding for the new kitchen has come from a successful bid to Medrwn Mon, Key Fund.

Activities for children

Our application for funding from BBC Children in Need was successful. We heard in April that we have been awarded money for salaries for 2 part time Project Workers for twelve months in the first instance. Recruitment is currently underway. One person will be working with Cylch Ti a Fi and one with After School Club. The two workers will also be available to help with children's activities during the school holidays.

Coffee morning

Are there any of our 'friends' who might host a Coffee morning in their own home for us, to raise funds and awareness of what we are hoping to offer once the centre is up and running? Please ring either of the above numbers if you can help in this way or if you have any other suggestions.

GRAND EASTER DRAW

(in aid of EB restoration fund)

The draw was made on Easter Saturday morning and raised in total £329. Thanks to all who donated prizes and/or bought tickets.

Booking the hall for celebrations etc

We shall soon be taking bookings for the hall for evenings at the weekends for parties so if you want to take advantage of your 10% discount please be in touch.

September

Once we have a firm date for opening, there will be an invitation for 'friends' to come and see inside Eglwys Bach and give you an opportunity to register for courses if you are interested.

Activities for Adults

We are hoping to offer in September:

Niwbwrch Llawn – sessions of interest to a wide variety of residents to include healthy living options and gentle exercise for the less mobile

Bingo

Aerobics

Drop in sessions in the cafe during lunchtime

CAB debt management services

Job club

Indoor bowls

If you want other activities/courses, please let us know.

with best wishes from Criw Niwbwrch Committee
